How it Happened
- Goalkeeper Hannah Mangan and midfielder Lara Mortz each made their first start with the Great Danes. In the first quarter, neither team accumulated any stats and there were no stoppages of play.Â
- UAlbany's Robyn Murray produced the game's first shot at 22:12 that was blocked. The shot resulted in a corner that Hanna Zarrilli converted. At 22:24, Zarrilli scored UAlbany's first goal of the season and gave them a 1-0 lead.
- UAlbany took the 1-0 lead into halftime and they kept Hofstra shot-less through the first half. They held a 3-0 shot advantage and 2-0 corners advantage at halftime.
- The Great Danes continued to pace the play in the third, as they took the only two shots of the period and earned the only corner. In the fourth, Hofstra's Jasmijn Verdoes took the first and only Pride shot of the game at 56:02 that went wide.
- After a Cosima Rocktaeschel shot off a corner was saved by Hofstra goalkeeper Merlijn van der Vegt, the Great Danes earned another attempt at the set play.
- With a perfectly played corner by Lara Mortz, Kelsey McCrudden stopped the ball for Julie Rodijk to fire home UAlbany's second goal at 57:28.
- Rodijk's second-career goal gave UAlbany a late two-goal advantage and they defeated Hofstra 2-0. UAlbany goalkeepers Mangan and Sheridan Messier, who entered the game for the second half, faced no shots on goal in the contest.
