Head Coach Trevor Gorman: "Tonight was a typically hard-fought, late-season America East game. It was physical, it was intense, and our players found a way to win. We wanted to win the set piece battle and it was pleasing to see the winner come from a dead ball in our favor. We'll regroup quickly and prepare for the next match Monday."
Â
Gorman on the Seniors: "I was really pleased for the seniors tonight. To win on senior night, and to get a shutout, is a really nice way to close their regular season, home, careers. They've contributed a lot to this program and been through an incredibly challenging last 18 months. The character, resilience, and desire to be successful has been evident all season and I'm very proud of them all."

How it Happened
- Before the game, UAlbany honored the nine members of the 2021 senior class: Alex Bourgeous, Austin DaSilva, Bjarki Leosson, Guillermo Mijancos, Carlos Morehouse, Zach Powell, Bjarki Ragnar, Haflidi Sigurdarson, and Carlos Tofern.
- UAlbany's best scoring chance in the first half came in the 30th minute, when the Great Danes ripped off three shots in succession, each of which were turned away by the Binghamton defense. First, Guillermo Mijancos fired one off from the right side, blocked. The deflection landed at the feet of Haflidi Sigurdarson in the middle of the box, who took another shot, blocked, and then collected his own rebound for a third shot in five seconds, also blocked.
- UAlbany and Binghamton each took six shots in the first half with neither team breaking through and after 45 minutes the teams broke for halftime tied at zero.
- UAlbany drew a free kick early in the second half, in the 50th minute, about 25 yards out from the Binghamton goal on the right side. Pantelis Panteli served the ball into the middle of the box, where it was flicked by Mijancos to defender Alex Bourgeois, playing high for the set piece. Bourgeois got a piece of the ball, just enough to redirect it away from Binghamton goalkeeper P.J. Parker and into the net to put UAlbany up 1-0.
- The Great Dane defense held steady for the remainder of the game, only allowing Binghamton two shots in the second half. The Bearcats only tested UAlbany goalkeeper Carlos Tofern once after the break, leading to Tofern's fifth shutout of the season.
- Thursday's victory sends UAlbany back to the America East Tournament for the 10th time in the last 11 years, with the only break coming this past spring.Â
Next: UAlbany closes the regular season at Stony Brook on November 1.
