SHORT STORY: The Great Danes scored the first goal but the Black Bears came back with two goals in the final quarter to take the victory, Friday afternoon.
COACH PHIL SYKES: "It was a well-played game by both teams today. [Maine] took advantage of some late opportunities."

- Freshman Alison Smisdom scored the only Great Dane goal of the contest.
- All three goals from the Maine-UAlbany game were scored during penalty corners with a stick-stop.
- The Great Danes outshot the Black Bears, 8-5. Shots on goal were tied at four.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Great Danes scored the first goal with the first shot of the game. Alison Smisdom shot a cannon into goal from the top of the circle. She was assisted by freshman Floor de Ruiter and junior Julie Rodijk.
- The score remained 1-0 until the fourth quarter. In both the second and third quarters, UAlbany held a 2-1 advantage in shots.
- Maine scored two goals in the fourth quarter during a six-minute span to take the lead and the game.
NEXT: The Great Danes welcome No. 5 North Carolina for their final non-conference game on Sunday, October 3.
