Coach Brown: "I was pleased with our overall effort.  It's nice to have more bodies.  Having their presence out there helps us.  I thought we did a really good job on Sessoms, he's a really hard cover.  But we have to start helping ourselves.  The careless turnovers and the self-inflicted mistakes have to stop.  And if we can stop them, and get healthy, I think we have a chance to be pretty good.  We took care of business today on the road, and we'll enjoy this win."

Recap

The University at Albany men's basketball team opened America East play on Saturday, knocking off Binghamton on the road 74-62 to win their second-straight road game.  Saturday's game featured the 2018-19 America East Rookie of the Year in Binghamton's Sam Sessoms, and the Rookie of the Year runner-up in Cameron Healy.

After trailing 3-2 early, UAlbany went on an 8-0 run to take a 10-0 lead before Binghamton scored again.  During the run, Healy hit a three-pointer, extending his made-threes streak to 48 games.

Binghamton closed their deficit to 10-8 with 14:22 remaining, before Healy hit a second three to put UAlbany back up five.  A layup from Adam Lulka with 10:40 to go before the break put UAlbany up 20-11.  Binghamton quickly closed within three within one minute before UAlbany scored five straight to go up 25-17 with 8:22 left in the first.

The Bearcats closed back within five before UAlbany began pulling away towards the end of the half.  Freshman Trey Hutcheston hit a layup with 4:09 to go to give UAlbany a double-digit lead for the first time in the game.

UAlbany led by 14 points at the break, their largest halftime lead of the season.  Healy had scored a team-high 12 points on 3-4 from three, and grabbed a team-high four rebounds.  Collectively, the Great Danes outrebounded Binghamton 24-15 in the first half, and outscored the Bearcats 14-0 off the bench, 14-4 in the paint, and 10-4 off of turnovers.
