"We had an opportunity to extend in the first game and we didnt capitalize.  We lost momentum and could not get it back throughout the back half and into the second game.  Happy with the defense and we are making small strides on the mound and at the plate. Looking forward to the finale tomorrow."

Short Story: UAlbany dropped the first two games of its three-game series against Longwood.

• Game one -John Clayton pitched 5.1 innings, allowing six runs on eight hits with three strikeouts.
• Dan Yankowski pitched 1.0 innings, allowing one run on one hit.
• Hunter Torres pitched the final 1.2 innings, allowing one run on one hit with three strikeouts.
• Nick Kondo was 3-for-4 with one run.
• Travis Collins was 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Game One:  

• UAlbany got off to a strong start, scoring three runs in the top of the first, thanks RBIs from Marc Wangenstein,  Patrick Lagravinese, and Kevin Donati.
• UAlbany scored another run in the top of the second and another four runs in the top of the fourth.
• Longwood scored five runs on three hits in the bottom of the sixth and scored another two runs in the bottom of the seventh.

• Longwood scored four runs in the bottom of the second, another run in the bottom of the third, and an additional two runs in the bottom of the fifth and sixth.
