Coach Gorman: “Our start to the game tonight was exactly what we were looking for. In the first 25 minutes we established control of the match and that enabled us to kick on from there. The second half became a bit frantic as they pressed hard but we handled it well and it's a good result.”

Led by a two goal performance by DaSilva and a goal by Roessler, the UAlbany men's soccer team tallied its second straight win with a 4-1 victory over Hofstra Tuesday night.

The win marked the program's second win against the Pride. UAlbany last defeated Hofstra in 2001 by a score of 2-1.

In the first half, Roessler got the Great Danes on the board in the 13th minute after he followed up on a shot that Konstantinos Louvaris took that the goalkeeper made the save on.

DaSilva gave UAlbany a 2-0 lead in the 23rd minute on a blast from the left side of the box.

The Great Danes scored a third goal in the 28th minute, after Hofstra had a bit of miscommunication as a Pride defender sent a pass back to their goalkeeper that went in the net for an own goal.

In the second half, the Pride got on the board after Matthew Vowinkel converted on a penalty kick opportunity in the 62nd minute.

DaSilva concluded the scoring with his second goal of the game in the 80th minute, after he stole the ball from the Pride goalkeeper and raced in to the empty net for the score.
