Short Story: UAlbany baseball clinched the final spot in the 2018 America East Tournament winning the first of two games at UMBC to close the regular season.

Game One

• UMBC scored first, hitting a solo home run in the bottom of the first in the Retriever's first at-bat
• UAlbany responded with one run in the top of the second when Brad Malm hit a bases-loaded sacrifice fly to left
• In the top of the third, Chris Turco hit an RBI single to third, scoring Marc Wangenstein to give UAlbany a 2-1 lead
• UMBC tied the game with another solo home run in the bottom of the third
• McClure retired his 10th consecutive batter to end the bottom of the seventh
• Matt Codispoti hit the go-ahead solo home run to left in the top of the 11th
• Dominic Savino earned his first save of the season after walking the leadoff runner in the bottom of the 11th to clinch the tournament bid for UAlbany

Game Two

• UMBC got on the board quickly with two runs in the bottom of the first
• UMBC took a 3-0 lead with one run in the bottom of the second
• Travis Collins hit an RBI single to first to put UAlbany on the board with two outs in the top of the fifth, UAlbany's only run of the game
• UMBC scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth, and one run in the bottom of the sixth to bring the final score to 6-1

Next: UAlbany has clinched the six seed in the America East Tournament.  The Great Danes will play three-seed UMBC at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Mahaney Diamond in Orono, Maine.
