Short Story: The Great Danes split the series-opening doubleheader at Binghamton and remain tied for sixth place in the America East standings with the Bearcats.

Game One

  • UAlbany struck first, scoring one run in the top of the fourth.  Matt Codispoti hit a leadoff single and advanced to second in the next at bat when Patrick Lagravinese grounded out to the Binghamton pitcher.  Ryan Hernandez next hit an RBI double to center, scoring Codispoti from second.
  • UAlbany took a 3-0 lead with two runs in the top of the sixth.  With one out and no one on, Codispoti was hit by a pitch, and advanced to second when Lagravinese hit a single through the right side.  Hernandez hit an RBI single through the left side, scoring Codispoti and advancing Lagravinese to third.  Brad Malm next hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring Lagravinese.
  • Binghamton scored one run in the bottom of the seventh
  • Binghamton's rally attempt fell short in the bottom of the ninth with runners on first and second after scoring one run to cut the lead to 3-2

Game Two

  • Binghamton scored the only two runs of the game in the bottom of the fourth
  • UAlbany put a runner on third with two outs in the top of the seventh
