Recap: The 17th-ranked UAlbany field hockey team dropped a 1-0 decision at America East foe New Hampshire on Friday afternoon.

The loss snapped a five-game win streak for the Great Danes who now own a 5-2 clip in conference play while the Wildcats improve to 3-5.

New Hampshire applied pressure with two shots early on, including a goal from Isabelle Danahy in the 24th minute. It was just the second time all season the Great Danes entered the break trailing their opponent.

The remainder of the first half went by without a goal, during which time the Wildcats had another opportunity to score firing off two shots quick shots in the 28th minute but neither landed. UAlbany drew a pair of corners in the first half but couldn't find an answer for a tough New Hampshire defense.

UAlbany controlled the pace of play in the second frame, outshooting its opponents 3-1. The Great Danes generated a dangerous scoring chance on a corner opportunity early in the second half but the initial shot by Frederike Helmke was blocked by a New Hampshire.

The Great Danes were held scoreless in conference play for the first time this season and just the third time this fall.
