HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Great Danes started the game with a penalty corner in the third minute of action. Although Quinty Reumer put the shot on goal, a Catamount recorded a defensive save to stop the score.
- The Catamounts started the scoring less than a minute into the second quarter and extended their lead to two 10 minutes later.
- After a scoreless third quarter, the Great Danes brought the game within one during a penalty corner just 30 seconds into the fourth. Quinty Reumer scored with a drag from the top of the circle. Emma Staron (stickstop) and Mara Küskes (insert) assisted on the goal.
- Twice in the second half the Catamounts stopped a Reumer shot with a defensive save.
- With about five minutes remaining in regulation, UAlbany tied the score at two. Repeating their earlier goal, Reumer scored with a drag from the top of the circle during a penalty corner.
- After a 15-minute scoreless overtime period, the two teams entered shootouts.
- In the first round, a best of five, both teams scored on four attempts to extend the game.
- After the best of five round, the game is determined by each individual round of shootouts. Both teams scored on the sixth shootout but in the seventh round, the Great Danes were unsuccessful and the Catamounts scored to win the game.
