UAlbany announces Homecoming tailgating, parking plan

ALBANY, N.Y. To ensure all fans have the best game day experience possible, UAlbany Athletics has partnered with the UAlbany Police Department and the rest of campus to adjust parking and tailgating procedures Saturday's Homecoming football game against Towson at 3:30 p.m.

Dutch Lot will be separated into two lots: one for tailgating, and one for fans who wish to proceed directly to Tom & Mary Casey Stadium. The cost to park in either lot is $15.

For fans who wish to enjoy the tailgating experience in the Dutch Lot, please note the following changes:

  • The Tailgating Area in the Dutch Lot will be secured.
  • Patrons driving to the game must notify the parking staff upon entering the Dutch Lot if they wish to tailgate or not. Patrons will then be guided to their desired area.
  • Tailgating in the Non-Tailgating Area is strictly prohibited, and patrons will be asked to move to the Tailgating Area or discontinue tailgating.
  • Pedestrians may enter the tailgating section of the Dutch Lot via an entrance on the east end of the lot.
  • Pedestrians wishing to enter the designated tailgate area will need a ticket to the game, valid proof of ticket purchase (such as a confirmation email from the UAlbany Ticket Office) or a UAlbany Student ID.
  • Pedestrians entering the lot will also be subject to bag and cooler checks.

Dutch and SEFCU Lot Tailgating Rules:

  • Both lots will open at 11:30 a.m., and tailgating must end by 3:15 p.m. (15 minutes prior to kickoff).
  • Tailgating must conclude after 90 minutes following the end of the game.
  • PROHIBITED ITEMS INCLUDE GLASS CONTAINERS OF ANY KIND AND KEGS.
  • Gas grills are allowed, but open flames are not permitted.
