Orono, Maine - Keith Bilodeau tossed a complete-game shutout in the first game to lead Maine to a sweep of UAlbany in an America East Conference baseball doubleheader on Sunday afternoon at Mahaney Diamond. The Black Bears recorded a 3-0 win in the game one, before taking the nightcap 5-3.

Maine broke a scoreless tie to take a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning. Troy Black led off the inning with a double down the right field line before Michael Fransoso drew a walk. Both runners advanced into scoring position with a double steal before coming home on a Joey Martin single into center.

Maine jumped out to an early 5-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning of game two. Taylor Lewis drew a walk, while Fransoso followed with an RBI double to left center field. Fransoso scored on a base hit by Justin Leisenheimer before Fran Whitten and Patzalek then knocked back-to-back singles to load the bases. Calbick drew a bases loaded walk, forcing home Leisenheimer, while Whitten scored on Colin Gay's single to left. Patzalek accounted for the fifth run of the inning on a base hit by Black.

UAlbany avoided its second shutout of the day, scoring a run in the top of the fifth. Joe Ilacqua walked, advanced to second on a wild pitch and scored on a Nolan Gaige double to left center. The Great Danes added two runs in the top of the eighth inning, in an attempt for a late rally. Gaige drew a walk and scored when Kyle Crean doubled to right center. Crean, who advanced to third base on a wild pitch, came home on a sacrifice fly ball by Josh Nethaway.

Jeffrey Gibbs went six innings on the mound for Maine, allowing a pair of hits and striking out six. Shaun Coughlin picked up the save, going two innings without allowing a hit and striking out four Great Danes. Kasceim Graham scattered eight hits in seven innings of work for UAlbany.
