UAlbany Falls in Second Overtime for 2-1 Boston U. Victory; Corrine McConville Scored Equalizer

Cambridge, Mass. - Corrine McConville tallied an unassisted goal on a rebound shot in the 68th minute to force overtime against America East Conference opponent No. 16 Boston University. The Terriers would score during the second overtime frame to take 2-1 victory Saturday afternoon.

Boston U. (9-7, 3-1 AE) took advantage of a 2-on-1 edge in the second overtime as Tabi Hatch sent a pass to Kate Murphy for a reverse stick tally.

Both regulation goals came in a three minute span late in the second half in a hard fought game by each squad. The Terriers would score first in the 65th minute off a penalty corner attempt. Macey Gaumond and Ysi Schieb set-up Jacinda McLeod for her sixth goal on the season.

No. 15 UAlbany (12-6, 2-2 AE) gained the equalizer with McConville's 11th goal this season as she gained possession off a rebound near the right post. The Great Danes combined for eight shots on goal, with three from McConville.

In the backfield, Great Dane goalkeeper Kristi Troch made five saves in the 86:26 effort. For the Terriers, Valentina Cerda made seven saves.

"We battled hard today," said UAlbany Head Coach Phil Sykes. "Boston U. is a tough team and came out ahead today. Goaltending was good on both sides and we really came together as a team in the second half and overtime. Its difficult to swallow today's loss, but we look forward to a potential rematch in playoffs."

The Great Danes will regroup this week and finish up regular season play with a home match Saturday, October 29th at 1:00 p.m. as No. 10 New Hampshire comes to the Capital Region for an America East battle.
