West Hartford, Conn. - Left fielder Bobby Gorski recorded two hits, including a home run, and three RBI, while also earning the win on the mound, to lead Hartford to a 7-5 win over UAlbany in America East Conference baseball action on Monday afternoon. The game was the series finale between the two teams, which started with a doubleheader sweep by UAlbany on Sunday.

            After the Great Danes took a 3-2 lead in the fifth inning, Hartford regained a one-run advantage in the bottom of the frame. Mike Amendola sent a two-run homer to left center to score Cory Beahm to put the Hawks back on top. UAlbany responded in the seventh to go back in front. Freshman second baseman Brian Bullard led off the frame with a solo homer to right center. Hartford's pitching loaded the bases, as Ralph Keppler and Greg Muller were hit by pitches, while Pete Eichner drew a walk. Shortstop Kyle Crean was then hit by a pitch from Hartford's Alex Bulger to send Keppler home and give the Great Danes a 5-4 advantage.

            Hartford scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth on an RBI double by Rodger Wilmot and a two-run homer by Gorski. UAlbany attempted to rally in the top of the ninth, but left two men on base to seal up the win for the Hawks.

            UAlbany's Zach Kraham pitched seven innings for the Great Danes, striking out three opposing batters. Brian Gauthier took the loss for UAlbany after one inning of work. Gorski got the win after just a third of an inning, while Chris Greiner earned a save in a one-inning performance for Hartford (7-20, AE 2-5). Bullard and Crean each recorded multiple hits for the Great Danes, while Crean also recorded a stolen base.

            UAlbany (4-24, AE 3-3) will return to action on Tuesday, hosting Le Moyne in non-conference action at 4 p.m.
