Scott Schwartz joined UAlbany as an assistant strength and conditioning coach in the summer of 2025. Schwartz is the head strength and conditioning coach for men's basketball and volleyball, and is the co-head strength coach for track and field.
Prior to UAlbany, Schwartz served as a graduate assistant coach at Merrimack College. There, he worked as the head strength and conditioning coach responsible for programming and coaching men's basketball, men's volleyball, and tennis. Previously, Schwartz held internships at the University of Illinois, Louisiana State University, the University of Cincinnati, and the University of Missouri, working primarily with men's basketball and football.
He is Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the CSCCA, an NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), and is First Aid/CPR/AED certified by the American Red Cross.
Schwartz graduated from the University of Missouri in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Fitness Programming and Management, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Parks, Recreation, Sport and Tourism – Sports Management. During his time at Missouri, he served as a four-year manager and strength intern for the men's basketball team. He earned his Master of Science in Exercise Science (Strength and Conditioning) from Merrimack College in 2025.
