On August 17, 2021, the University at Albany women's soccer team announced the addition of Assistant Coach
Matt Anderson.
Anderson served as an Assistant Coach at St. Francis Brooklyn for two years after joining the Terriers in 2019. While there, he was involved in all aspects of the program, including on field coaching, recruiting, video analysis, and various administrative duties. Primarily, Anderson was assigned with commanding the goalkeepers and defenders. With his assistance, the Terriers recorded their best ever single-season goals against average, best single-season save percentage, and led the team to its first ever clean sheet.
While in Brooklyn, Anderson also spent time as an Assistant Coaching Director with Brooklyn City F.C. There, he had direct involvement in helping the club significantly grow from just 25 players to over 200 in a matter of two years. He prepared the club's schedule, helped develop the club's curriculum, and assessed coaches to provide feedbacks on sessions.
Anderson also spent time as an Assistant Men's Soccer Coach with The King's College from 2018 to 2019. He assisted the team's head coach with all duties on and off the field. He coached two players that would go on to win Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Rookie and Player of the Year awards and United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Team of the Year awards. Additionally, Anderson aided the Lions in reaching their first ever playoff and national tournament appearances.
