At UAlbany
Nan Garcia joined the UAlbany women's basketball staff as an assistant coach and the Director of Basketball Operations ahead of the 2025-26 season.
As the Assistant Coach/Director of Operations, she will be involved in all phases of the day-to-day operations of the women's basketball office. She will handle office and team budgetary matters, team travel, and will assist in the operations of the annual Coach Mullen basketball camp.
Playing Career
A five-year women's basketball student-athlete, Garcia started her career at Penn State in 2020. She averaged 47.8% from the field, with a .462 three-point percentage from three, in 13 games as a freshman. She was a regular off the bench with 36 total starts, 26 in 2023-24, in four seasons in Toledo. As a fifth year, she was named the MAC Sixth Player of the Year averaging 5.0 rebounds, 8.1 points, 1.2 assists, and 1.0 steals per game while playing 18.2 minutes per game. She was named MAC Academic All-Conference three times.
Prior to UAlbany
During her time as a college student, Garcia worked with multiple organizations as a basketball coach - NextPlay's AAU, Maumee Valley Country Day School, and Central Catholic High School. Garcia also spent time volunteering with Toledo women's basketball as an intern as well as with two basketball camps - Toledo and Indiana.
Personal
A native of Jeffersonville, Ind., Garcia graduated from the University of Toledo with both her Bachelor of Business Administration (Dec. 2023) and her Master of Business Administration (May 2025).
