Erik DiLorenzo

Erik DiLorenzo, a four-year starter and two-time captain of the UAlbany program from 2005-08, returns to his alma mater to begin his first season as an assistant coach.

DiLorenzo anchored the Great Dane defense throughout his career and helped the program make three appearances in the America East Conference championship while blanking 24 opponents. Offensively, he registered four goals and 10 assists for 18 points.

In addition to being a catalyst for UAlbany's nine-win improvement last fall, a mark which tied for third nationally, DiLorenzo was named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Northeast Region Third Team. Furthermore, he was the first defender since George Friedman in 2004 to garner a spot on America East's all-conference second team. The captain was a two-time member of the league's all-championship squad and was an all-rookie team selection as a freshman in 2005.

DiLorenzo, a native of Bolton, Ontario, has actively been working as a coach at youth soccer camps run by the Bolton Wanderers, Ottawa Fury and Toronto Lynx over the past six summers for kids ranging between the ages of five and 15 years old. Last year, he ran training sessions for the Bolton Wanderers' under-17 boys' team.

A four-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee who was also a member of the America East Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll, DiLorenzo graduated with a bachelor's degree in accounting in 2009.
