Vic Cegles joined UAlbany Athletics in February 2016 as Associate Athletic Director for Revenue Enhancement and was promoted to Deputy Athletic Director in October 2019.
As Deputy Athletic Director, Cegles is a member of the department’s senior leadership team and oversees key external operations, including marketing, communications, ticketing, and revenue generation initiatives. He serves as the sport administrator for football, men’s basketball, and men’s lacrosse, while also leading corporate partnerships, managing the department’s relationship with Under Armour, and overseeing future football scheduling.
Prior to UAlbany, Cegles served as Director of External Relations at the University of Minnesota, where he focused on major gifts and premium seating sales and stewardship for Gopher Athletics. Before Minnesota, he was Assistant Athletic Director for Development at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), overseeing annual giving, major gifts, premium seating, and the day-to-day operations of the Ram Athletic Fund. He began his collegiate athletics career in VCU’s ticket office and was promoted to Assistant Director of Ticketing and Development in 2009.
A native of Phoenix, Arizona, Cegles earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Sport Management from Rutgers University, where he was a four-year letterwinner on the baseball team. Following graduation, he signed a free-agent contract with the Washington Nationals organization and played for the Gulf Coast Nationals. He later earned a master’s degree from VCU’s Center for Sport Leadership.
Cegles resides in East Greenbush, N.Y. with his partner Tovah, who was an All-American field hockey player for the Great Danes and is the Senior Vice President of Association Advancement for the Capital District YMCA, and her two sons, Merrik and Grayson.
