Sylak has been a member of the UAlbany training staff since June 2007, becoming a full-time member in 2011 after being a graduate assistant and part-time staff member.
He is an ATC (athletic trainer, certified) through the National Athletic Trainers Association. He is certified in first aid, CPR and AED through ImPACT Trained Athletic Trainer and concussion protocol through the ImPACT program.
He formerly was a research intern with the Geneva Foundation-West Point as part of the NCAA-DoD (Department of Defense) Grand Alliance CARE Consortium.
Sylak graduated from SUNY Cortland in 2007 with a degree in athletic training, earning his Master's Degree in liberal studies from UAlbany in 2009.
