Hamlet Tibbs joins the University at Albany men’s basketball staff as an assistant coach under newly-hired head coach, Dwayne Killings, in spring of 2021.
Tibbs was selected to Killings’ staff after he spent seven seasons at Vermont as an assistant coach. During his tenure, the Catamounts had a 166-61 overall record and 92-18 record in the America East. Vermont was a four-time America East Regular Season Champion and three-time America East Tournament Champion during his seven-year stint. In 2016-17, the Catamounts set a program and America East record with 29 wins and had a perfect 16-0 conference record.
Prior to Vermont, Tibbs coached five seasons at The Albany Academy and was also part of the Albany City Rocks program.
Tibbs graduated from West Virginia University and has a master’s degree from the University of Phoenix.
