Mike Livingston

Mike Livingston joined the UAlbany staff in 2025. He currently serves as the team’s cornerbacks coach and defensive pass game coordinator.
Before joining the Great Danes, Livingston previously spent time at UMass and Sacred Heart University, where he served as the defensive pass game coordinator/cornerbacks coach. Since 2015, Livingston coached six all-conference defensive backs and specialists. Under Livingston, the SHU secondary led all FCS Football in passing defense while winning back-to-back NEC Championships in 2020 and 2021. 

Livingston spent the 2019 season at Howard University as the Bison's secondary coach and special teams coordinator.  The Bison finished ninth in the nation in blocked kicks under Livingston’s tutelage. Livingston was with Boston College for two seasons (2013-14), coaching cornerbacks, the defensive line and working in recruiting and scouting. Boston College made two bowl appearances during his two seasons, including the 2013 Independence Bowl and the 2014 Pinstripe Bowl.
 
Livingston began his career as a defensive student assistant at the University of Connecticut, where he assisted the coaching staff in day-to-day operations and provided on-field assistance for the cornerbacks and other defensive team drills. Livingston saw his first bowl appearance with the Huskies at the 2011 Fiesta Bowl. 
 
Livingston, a native of Norwalk, Conn., earned his bachelor’s degree from UConn in 2012.
