Keith Larson was named the special teams coordinator at the University at Albany on January 2, 2026, marking a return to the Capital Region where he previously established a strong coaching reputation.

Larson joined the Great Danes after spending two seasons at Texas A&M as a special teams analyst from 2024 to 2025. During his time in College Station, he contributed to a staff that led the Aggies to a No. 7 ranking heading into the program's first-ever appearance in the College Football Playoff. Prior to his tenure at Texas A&M, Larson served as a special teams analyst at Duke University from 2022 to 2023, where he mentored All-ACC specialists and helped the Blue Devils achieve notable success in their kicking and punting units.

Before moving to the FBS level, Larson held significant roles in the Northeast, including a three-year stint at Bucknell University from 2019 to 2021. At Bucknell, he served as the special teams coordinator and coached both wide receivers and defensive backs, helping develop multiple All-Patriot League selections. His coaching foundation in the Capital Region was built at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, where he worked from 2016 to 2018. During his time with the Engineers, he served as the special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach, playing a key role in the team winning two Liberty League titles and making back-to-back NCAA Division III playoff appearances, including a run to the national quarterfinals in 2018.

Larson’s collegiate playing career took place at Valparaiso University, where he was a three-year letterwinner at safety. Recognized for his leadership on the field, he served as the Crusaders' special teams captain and graduated in 2014 with a degree in business management. He began his coaching journey as a graduate assistant at Robert Morris University (Illinois), where he coached defensive backs and earned a master’s degree in sports administration in 2015.
