Dylan August

Dylan August joined the University at Albany football coaching staff ahead of the 2026 season as the team's wide receivers coach, bringing a wealth of offensive development experience across the FCS, Ivy League, and FBS levels.

August arrived in the Capital Region after a highly successful stint as the running backs coach at Tennessee Tech University, where he helped guide the Golden Eagles to a Big South-OVC championship in 2025. Under his direction, Tennessee Tech boasted the number one rushing offense in the conference, averaging a stellar 6.3 yards per carry as a running back room and producing 27 rushing touchdowns. His unit featured two All-Big South-OVC Second Team selections in Q. Quinn and Q. Jennings. A relentless recruiter, August also served as the program's community service director and camp coordinator.

Prior to his time at Tennessee Tech, August spent the 2024 season in the Ivy League as the assistant quarterbacks coach at Princeton University.

His extensive offensive foundation was built during a three-year tenure at the University of Houston under Dana Holgorsen. Serving in multiple roles from 2020 to 2023—including offensive analyst and offensive graduate assistant—August worked closely with the Cougars' wide receivers, running backs, and offensive line. During his time in Houston, he assisted in game preparation and player development for a program that made an appearance in the 2021 AAC Championship game and secured postseason titles at both the Birmingham Bowl (2021) and Independence Bowl (2022).

August began his collegiate coaching career at West Virginia University, where he served as a defensive graduate assistant working with the safeties and nickels from 2018 to 2019.

A native of the Capital Region, August earned both his Bachelor of Science in Multi-Disciplinary Studies (2018) and his Master of Arts in Corporate & Organizational Communication (2020) from West Virginia University, where he also spent his undergraduate years working as an equipment manager for the Mountaineers' football program.
