Tara Grieb enters her first year as an academic coordinator with the University at Albany Athletics Department during the 2022-23 academic year.
She is the academic coordinator for baseball, men’s basketball, men’s soccer, women’s lacrosse, field hockey, and volleyball.
She came to UAlbany from Pine Plains Central School District, where she served as the principal for Stissing Mountain High School from 2009 to 2022. She spent the last 24 years in education, her last 17 as a school principal.
Grieb graduated from Oneonta State College in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a minor in History. She earned a Master of Arts degree in Arts in Education and an Advanced Certificate in Coaching from the University at Stony Brook in 1999. Grieb completed an SDL Certification from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and finished her EdD in Transformational Leadership from Northeastern University.
She is a speaker and consultant at NYS School Administrator’s Conference, Consultant and Mentor to school administrators, and Speaker for Bias Awareness and diversity training for multiple districts.
