Short Story: The UAlbany women's soccer program was shut out by the Black Bears at the New Balance Soccer Complex, Sunday afternoon.

  • Emma Nicholson gave Maine a 1-nil lead in the 28th minute of play with a goal that just made it over the outstretched hands of Claudia Volino.
  • Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the remaining 17 minutes of the first half, giving the Black Bears the 1-nil advantage going into the second half of play.
  • Volino made her first save of the match for the Great Danes in the 49th minute when Maine's Olivia Grisdale struck a shot low and center.
  • Isabella Meadows extended Maine's lead with a shot that found the bottom right corner of the net in the 62nd minute of the match.
  • UAlbany was unable to find an answer for the Black Bears, giving Maine the 2-nil win.
