HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Sara Anderson scored the first run with the first hit of the game - a home run - in the top of the first.
  • UMass Lowell took the lead, 2-1, before the end of the first.
  • The Great Dane defense recorded a double play to end the second inning.
  • Taylor Quinn scored from second to give Mary Kate Murray an RBI single but the River Hawks regained the lead, 3-2, before the end of the third.
  • Through the next three scoreless innings, UML recorded two singles and the UAlbany pitchers added two strikeouts.
  • Julia Pike singled up the middle to begin (what proved to be the Great Danes' seventh inning comeback).
  • With an immense amount of pressure - full count, two outs, down by one, and two runners in scoring position - Taylor Quinn slammed a double deep into left center to bring in both runners and take the lead, 4-3.
  • The UAlbany defense recorded a 1-2-3 with just seven pitches to secure the victory.
