Katie Parisi hit what proved to be the game-winning RBI double in extra innings but the Great Danes fell in game two to split the day's doubleheader, Saturday afternoon.
GAME ONE
SCORE: UAlbany 4, UMass Lowell 2 (9 innings)
KEY STATS
- Freshman Katie Parisi led the team with two hits, including a game-winning double, and two RBI. Parisi's double was her 21st this season - she is now tied for the single-season record.
- Juniors Taylor Quinn and Mary Kate Murray also recorded two hits.
- Sophomore Hayley Wieczerzak pitched the complete game where she struck out 14 batters, and only walked one.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Taylor Quinn led off the game with a single before redshirt-junior Gaelen Kelly singled in the top of the second to send senior Deanna Grahek home for the Great Danes' first run of the game.
- UMass Lowell found some momentum in the bottom of the third, driving two runs in to take the lead, 2-1.
- Throughout the first five innings, pitcher Hayley Wieczerzak recorded two strikeouts in each.
- Katie Parisi scored off of a fielder's choice in the top of the sixth to tie the game, 2-2.
- Remaining tied after the seventh, the contest headed into extra innings.
- After a stalemate in the eighth inning, Parisi doubled to left center for two RBI to take a 4-2 lead.
- Despite a double from the River Hawks, the Great Dane defense held off any scoring to secure the extra-inning victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The River Hawks earned an early lead with six runs in the bottom of the first.
- In the top of the second, Sara Anderson and Sierra Roy hit back-to-back singles.
- Kasey Conn drove in both Anderson and Roy with a single to right field.
- UMass Lowell extended their lead in the bottom of the third, 8-2.
- After a scoreless fourth inning, Katie Parisi homered to right center for the Great Danes' third run in the top of the fifth.
- The River Hawks responded with two runs of their own in the bottom of the inning to make it 10-3 in their favor.
- Roy doubled in the top of the sixth but was unable to advance further.
- After the Great Danes were unable to get on base in the seventh, UMass Lowell took the win, 10-3.
