Short Story: The University at Albany baseball team earned a walk-off win over NJIT on Saturday afternoon, breaking through in the ninth inning of a scoreless game.

Christian Mello was a force at the end. Give them credit they threw the ball. The defense was good again and we rallied late for the win."

How it Happened:
- Both teams were locked in a pitcher's duel from the start, with neither side able to break through across the first eight innings.
- Dylan Banner got the start for the Great Danes and delivered a dominant outing, allowing just three hits over seven shutout innings while keeping NJIT off the board.
- NJIT threatened in the fifth and seventh innings, putting runners on base, but Banner worked out of both jams to keep the game scoreless.
- Christian Mello entered in relief in the eighth inning and continued the strong pitching effort, tossing two scoreless innings to set up a chance late.
- After eight scoreless innings, UAlbany finally broke through in the bottom of the ninth. Michael Maggio led off the frame with a single, followed by a walk from Patrick DeSarno and a single from Tre Mariano to load the bases.
- Levi McAllister then delivered, singling to right field to bring home Maggio and walk it off for the Great Danes, securing the 1-0 victory.
