GAME TWO

SCORE:
UAlbany 11, Colgate 5

KEY STATS
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Great Danes opened game two with a vengeance and scored four runs in the first inning.
  • Eight batters saw a plate appearance, six of which earned a hit. Mary Kate Murray, Sierra Roy, and Deanna Grahek each drove in a run.
  • Colgate scored two but the Great Danes left three on base to stave off the possible go-ahead run.
  • Kasey Conn led off the second with a single and made her way around the bases to score and give Katie Parisi an RBI.
  • UAlbany extended its lead to 8-2 after a three-run homer from Jenny Nardelli. The ball went over the fence at nearly dead center.
  • Colgate hit two solo home runs to close the gap to 8-4 after four innings.
  • The Great Danes added a run in the fifth and the Raiders hit a third home run in the sixth for a 9-5 game headed into the final inning.
  • Roy opened the seventh with a single and, pinch-running for her, Beal made it to second on a sacrifice bunt from Anderson.
  • Sophomore Kaitlyn Parisi drove in Beal before scoring herself for an 11-5 UAlbany advantage.
  • Julia Pike came in to pitch the final inning and struck out all three batters for the victory. She pitched just 12 pitches, six of which came from two three-pitch plate appearances.

NEXT: The Great Danes will continue on the road with a three-game weekend series at UMass Lowell (Apr. 25-26).
