Short Story: The University at Albany baseball team used a late-inning surge to secure a 6-3 win over Bryant on Saturday afternoon, highlighted by a dominant relief outing from
Matthew Mariano.

How it Happened:
- UAlbany struck first in the second inning when Brian Guerrero delivered a two-RBI single up the middle to give the Great Danes an early 2-0 lead.
- Bryant answered in the bottom half of the inning, capitalizing on traffic on the bases before Brandyn Durand cleared them with a three-run double to put the Bulldogs in front, 3-2.
- Dylan Banner settled in after the second inning, keeping Bryant off the board while working through six innings with 10 strikeouts before handing the ball over to the bullpen.
- Matthew Mariano entered in relief to begin the seventh inning and was dominant, tossing three scoreless innings while allowing just one baserunner and striking out four to keep the game within reach.
- The Great Danes pulled even in the seventh when Tre Mariano doubled down the left field line to score Cooper Loyal and tie the game at 3-3.
- UAlbany broke through in the ninth inning. After a leadoff single from Cooper Loyal and a walk to Tre Mariano, Levi McAllister delivered a clutch two-RBI double to left center to give the Great Danes a 5-3 lead.
- Jaxon Mueller followed with an RBI double of his own to extend the lead to 6-3.
- Mariano returned for the bottom of the ninth and shut the door to secure the victory.
