Short Story: The University at Albany men's lacrosse team collected its first win of the 2026 season on Saturday afternoon following a 17-9 drubbing of Drexel in Philadelphia.

How it Happened:
- Silas Richmond scored the game's first goal early in the first, coming from behind the net to make it 1-0.
- Shortly after, UAlbany's long poles got in on the action. Max Neeson brought the ball up before Cade Galko found it in his stick. Galko then found Koleton Marquis in front of the net for the game's second goal.
- Drexel notched their first goal of the game with 7:25 on the clock in the first, courtesy of Liam Kammar. They tied it shortly after on a goal from Caden Zadell, 2-2.
- UAlbany pushed the lead back to two goals, 4-2, to open the second quarter thanks to Ryan Doherty (first of the game) and Marquis (second of the game).
- The Dragons scored to bring it back within one, but Richmond scored his second of the afternoon shortly after to make it a 5-3 game by the midway point of the second.
- 30 seconds later, Jackson Palumb scored his first of the game to make it 6-3.
- The Great Danes went on a scoring spree in the last three minutes of action. Marquis completed his hat trick before the poles got involved, with Jacob Smith and Max Neeson both scoring on back-to-back possessions to push the lead to 9-3 heading into halftime.
- The first goal of the second half came from Drexel's Owen Knight, 2:30 into the frame.
- Daniel Kesselring responded for the Great Danes with his first of the afternoon shortly after, making it 10-4.
- Drexel's Teddy Luthy made it 10-5 midway through the third.
- Kesselring scored his second of the day with 6:13 remaining in the third, but Drexel's Wall answered less than a minute later to make it 11-6.
- With 3:42 remaining in the third, Richmond completed the hat trick with his third of the day.
- Marquis scored his fourth of the day with five seconds remaining to make it 13-6 before Austin Oppenheim won the following draw and took it down himself to score with just a second left on the clock, 14-6.
- Two minutes into the fourth, Jackson Palumb pushed the lead to 15-6.
- Smith scored his second pole goal of the afternoon two minutes later to make it 16-6.
- Midway through the fourth, the Dragons scored back-to-back goals to make it a 16-8 game.
- With 4:35 on the clock, the Dragons added another off the stick of Jack Porter.
- The final goal of the game came with 3:08 remaining off the stick of Doherty, 17-9.
