 The University at Albany men's lacrosse team saw the UMass Minutemen pull away in the second half in a 15-9 loss on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened:  
  • Nobody scored until eight minutes into the game when UMass finally broke the stalemate with a goal from Colin Coyle.
  • The Great Danes scored the next goal shortly after, thanks to the long pole of Brady Quill, his first career goal.
  • UAlbany took the lead at 2-1 with 4:43 on the clock following Teharonhiorens McComber's second goal of the season.
  • The Minutemen scored back-to-back goals before time expired in the first quarter to take a 3-2 advantage.
  • UMass' Coyle collected his second goal of the afternoon five minutes into the second to push the lead to two goals.
  • A man-up goal from Ryan Doherty with 8:30 on the clock brought UAlbany back to within one, 4-3.
  • The Great Danes ripped off two goals in under 30 seconds around the four-minute mark to take a 5-4 advantage. Jackson Palumb found the back of the net first, followed by Silas Richmond.

  • The lead was pushed to 9-6 on a BTB goal from UMass' Granara with 6:59 left in the third.

  • The Minutemen scored three more goals in the first four minutes of the fourth quarter to make it 13-6.
  • Matthew Pettis scored his first career goal to stop the bleeding with 10 minutes remaining, 13-7.
  • UMass answered immediately to push the lead back to seven. Another goal two minutes later made it 15-7.
  • Koleton Marquis scored with 3:36 remaining and Ben Wimmer scored with 1:32 remaining to make the score 15-9.
