GREAT DANE REWIND

• UAlbany has competed in four races in preparation for the America East Championship.
• The men tabbed their best finish at the NJIT Invitational where they finished second out of 22 teams.
• The women have placed second at three of the four meets they have competed in this season, which included the NJIT Invitational where they raced against 24 other teams.
• Skyler (Smith) Hines and Jerry Lewis have consistently led their respective teams. 
• Hines has been the top women's finisher in all four races, including three individual wins at the Marist Season Opener, the NJIT Invitational, and the R. Keith Munsey Invitational.
• Lewis has led the team in three races with his best finish coming at the Marist Invitational (second).
• Arianna Verardi has consistently finished second and scored for the women while Owen Stachlik has earned points for the men in each race. Stachlik was the men's top finisher at the Jasper Fall Invitational.
• Nicole Samson, Lucy D'Alessandro, Talise Lynagh, and Cara Mastan have also scored for the women. On men's side, four additional runners have secured points for their team throughout the 2026 season – Zavier Durandisse, Cole Cosgrove, Isaac Graber, and Vinny Costello.

 
MOST RECENTLY AT HOME

• The Great Danes hosted the R. Keith Munsey Invitational in preparation for the 2026 America East Cross Country Championships.
• UAlbany was joined by two other America East teams at the race on October 16 - Binghamton and UMass Lowell.
• Skyler (Smith) Hines (18:14) won the women's individual race, followed by Arianna Verardi (19:05), Talise Lynagh (19:23), Lucy D'Alessandro (19:28), and Nicole Samson (19:33) added four top-15 finishes.
• On the men's side, three runners finished in the top 20 for the 8k. Jerry Lewis (26:09) led with a 13th-place finish; Zavier Durandisse (26:36) and Cole Cosgrove (27:00) followed in 15^th and 20^th place, respectively.

 
2025 AMERICA EAST CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS

• In 2025, the Maine women took home their first title since ever and the UMass Lowell men won their sixth consecutive title.
• Individually, Bryant's Jasmine Trott won first title while Jan Wouter Van Den Akker, a Riverhawk, won on the men's side.
• Arianna Verardi led the women's side with a time of 19:12.08. Aiva Pinches, Hannah Steiner, Cara Mastan, and Jaymee Yelton rounded out the Great Danes' point scorers.
• Nikolas Christian led the men's side with a time of 26:04.68. 
• Returning student-athletes Jerry Lewis, Ben Jones, and Owen Stachlik also scored points for the Great Danes in 2025. Isaac Graber will also return to compete at the 2026 championship.

• Pending the results of the America East Championship, the Great Danes' season may continue at the NCAA Northeast Regionals on Friday, November 13.
