- Saturday’s matchup will be the first game of the Year for the Big Red, starting the season later than most as an Ivy League squad.
- Dan Swanstrom enters his second year as head coach of the Big Red, posting a 4-6 record last season.
- Last season, Cornell averaged 30.2 points per game with opponents averaging 31.8 points.
- Quarterbacks Garrett Bass-Sulpizio and Devin Page top the depth chart for Cornell. Bass-Sulpizio is listed as a junior, competing in four games last season on both offense and defense. Page, also listed as a junior, saw action in two games last year against Colgate and UAlbany.
Rematch
Saturday’s game will be the second year in a row the Great Danes and Big Red meet. Last season, UAlbany made the trip to Ithaca on Oct. 5, securing a 31-10 victory on the road. Notable returners for the Great Danes who had a strong game last year include Jojo Uga (91 rushing yards), Ron Holmes (eight tackles), and Troy Berschwinger (eight tackles, one sack).
