Women’s Lacrosse Clinches Final Spot in 2025 America East Tournament

Short Story: UAlbany women's lacrosse clinched a spot in the 2025 America East Tournament with a 19-9 victory over Binghamton.

How it Happened:
  • Mikaela Mooney opened up the Great Danes' scoring drive with 13:14 to play before Gracie McCauley found the back of the net one minute later to take an early 1-0 lead.
  • Olivia Muscolino scored Binghamton's first and only goal of the first quarter.
    Courtney Rowe, Kloey Roos, Dylana Williams, and Ravan Marsell would all score to close out the first quarter to give the Great Danes a 6-1 lead after 15 minutes of play.
  • The Great Danes started the second to extend their scoring run to eight straight goals and take a 10-1 lead with 11:49 to go in the half, highlighted by two goals for Gracie McCauley for her hat-trick goal in the game and 100th career point.
  • Over six minutes would pass before Binghamton tallied its second and third goals of the game to make it a 10-3 Great Danes lead.
  • UAlbany's Mooney and Williams closed out the half with one goal each to allow the Purple and Gold to secure a 12-3 lead at the half.
  • The Bear Cats tallied the first two goals of the third, only for Dylana Williams to answer back with two goals in the third herself, keeping it a nine-goal game heading into the fourth quarter.
  • Binghamton started by scoring the first goal in the fourth quarter, only for Roos and Mooney to answer back to pull ahead 16-6 for UAlbany's first 10-goal lead of the game.
  • Two more goals would be added to the home teams score bringing it back to an eight goal 16-8, UAlbany lead just over 10-minutes to play.
  • Mikaela Mooney netted her fourth goal of the contest, extending the Great Danes' lead to nine.
  • The Bearcats would only be able to tack on one more goal before junior defender Delilah Mile would record the first goal of her career, followed by Mooney's fifth goal of the game as the clock expired, giving the Great Danes a 19-9 victory.
 
UP NEXT: UAlbany's women's lacrosse has clinched the No. 3 seed in the 2025 America East Tournament and will now meet UMass Lowell in Smithfield, Rhode Island, at host Bryant on Friday, May 2, with a first draw time to be determined.
