Women’s Lacrosse Advances to Fourteenth-Straight America East Championship Game

Short Story: UAlbany women's lacrosse advanced to the America East Championship with an 18-10 victory over UMass Lowell for their 14th-straight Championship Game.

  • Kloey Roos led UAlbany with a HUGE seven points from six goals and one assist.
  • Mikaela Mooney tallied a team high of two assists.
  • Kennedi Landrigan led the Great Danes with four ground balls.

How it Happened:
  • Mikaela Mooney gave the Great Danes an early lead 46 seconds into the first before UMass Lowell responded with back-to-back goals.
  • Mooney would net her second of the quarter, only for the River Hawks to net two more before the end of the first half.
  • Six straight goals in the second half, highlighted by two more goals from Mooney and a hat trick from Dylana Williams, propelled UAlbany to an 8-4 lead, before UML scored in the final minute to make it an 8-5 Great Dane lead after 30 minutes of play.
  • Mooney and D. Williams started the second half strong as each netted a goal, extending the lead to 10-5, before a UML goal.
  • UML would end the third on a 2-1 run, as Kloey Roos netted the Great Danes' lone goal before the fourth as UAlbany maintained an 11-8 lead.
  • The fourth quarter started with five unanswered goals by UAlbany, three from Roos, as the Great Danes took a 16-8 lead with 5:41 to play.
  • One more goal from Roos and Zareena Sorho adding her name to the scores list sealed the deal to help UAlbany take home the 18-10 win!
