SHORT STORY: Two Great Danes scored in the double-digits but it wasn't enough as second-seeded Vermont upset UAlbany at Broadview Center, Friday night.
KEY STATS
- Kayla Cooper led the team with 18 points, three assists, and eight rebounds.
- Jessica Tomasetti followed with 14 points, two assists, and seven rebounds while adding one steal.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Both teams got out to an even start and tied the score, 5-5, at 6:53.
- With five minutes left in the half, Vermont gained a slight, 10-9, edge over the Great Danes.
- After trading an equal four points back and forth the rest of the quarter, the Catamounts went into the second quarter with a one-point lead.
- UAlbany gained the advantage during the beginning of the second by outscoring Vermont, 7-4, in just under five minutes.
- The Catamounts came back to put up six points to the Great Danes' three to go back on top, 24-23.
- Shortly after, UAlbany beat out Vermont, 5-2, within a minute to go ahead, 28-26.
- In the last two seconds of the quarter, the Catamounts tied the score to make it 28-28 at halftime.
- Vermont came out of the break stronger on defense and held the Great Danes to four points while scoring 13 in the third quarter.
- Down, 41-32, the Great Danes answered with eight consecutive points to start the fourth.
- UAlbany continued to cut into the Catamounts' lead until it was four points at 4:08, 50-46.
- Vermont retained control and put up two-straight baskets to take a 55-46 lead with 3:12 remaining.
- With five team fouls on the board, UAlbany fouled Vermont three times within a minute as the Catamounts maintained a multi-possession lead and won the game, 62-55.
