- Sophomore transfer Taylor Quinn went 3-3, including a double, in her first game as a Great Dane.
- Redshirt-senior Victoria Vilarchao hit the first multi-base hit of the season with an RBI double.
- Junior Deanna Grahek and freshman Charlotte Lomb each added a hit.
- Redshirt-senior Kate Powers pitched three strikeouts in 4.0 innings for the complete game.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Great Danes started strong with two hits and a run in the first inning.
- Taylor Quinn notched the first hit of the season with a single through the right side.
- Victoria Vilarchao drove in Quinn with a double to right center.
- Ball State took the lead with three runs, two unearned, in the bottom of the first.
- Charlotte Lomb hit her first career single but was unable to cross home.
- The Cardinals added two runs in the second inning before scoring three more in the bottom of the fourth.
- Down 9-1, Quinn hit a double to left field and made it to third during sophomore Mary Kate Murray's at bat but she was unable to score for the Great Danes and Ball State took the game, 9-1, in five innings.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Scoreless through the first inning, the 49ers took a 5-0 lead in the second inning.
- With four runs and one out on the board, Hailey Errichiello took control of the circle with the bases loaded. Pitching her first career strikeout to end the inning, she allowed just one runner to score and left three on base.
- Charlotte Lomb and Vanessa Meyers opened the third with two consecutive singles for the Great Danes.
- The UAlbany defense tallied three outs in three batters, including two strikeouts from Errichiello, to end the third.
- The 49ers offense added four runs for a 9-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth.
- With two outs on the scoreboard, Lomb added up the middle to put a runner on base.
- Meyers made it two runners on base after drawing a walk but Charlotte made the final out and won the game, 9-0, in five innings.
