How it Happened:
- The Great Danes and Gamecocks traded baskets early, with South Carolina taking an 8–6 lead in the first four minutes as Yaya Keita scored four of UAlbany's first six points.
- South Carolina then went on a 14–0 run over a three-minute stretch to build a 22–6 advantage.
- UAlbany responded with a 19–11 run, sparked by nine points from Amir Lindsey and two emphatic dunks from Okechukwu Okeke, cutting the deficit to 33–25 with 5:58 remaining in the half.
- The Gamecocks closed the first half on a 15–8 run, with Lindsey adding four more points to give him 13 in the opening half, as USC took a 48–33 lead into the break.
- To start the second half, the teams battled evenly, with UAlbany outscoring South Carolina 8–6 to make it a 54–41 game.
- A 21–9 run by USC extended the lead to 75–50 with 10 minutes remaining.
- Over the next five minutes, Jaden Kempson scored all seven of the Great Danes' points, making it an 88–57 contest.
- In the final five minutes, five different Great Danes scored, but the late push was not enough as South Carolina secured a 96–67 victory.
