ALBANY, N.Y. – The University at Albany football team has officially announced the program's 2026 season schedule.
 
The 2026 slate features another 12 games for the Great Danes, including five matchups at Tom & Mary Casey Stadium.

The season kicks off on Aug. 28 with a Friday night game in the Capital Region when UAlbany hosts Costal Athletic Association (CAA) foe New Hampshire under the lights. It will be the program's first regular season home game played on a Friday since joining the conference in 2013. The Wildcats finished the 2025 season as an FCS Playoff team, falling to South Dakota State in the First Round.
 
The Great Danes will then turn around to travel to Western New York for a matchup with Buffalo (FBS) of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) on Thursday, Sept. 3. The Great Danes and Bulls last met in 2016 when the Great Danes pulled off the upset with a 22-16 victory. The win marks the last time UAlbany took down an opponent from college football's top tier.
 
After a road matchup with LIU on Sept. 12, the team returns to Casey Stadium on Sept. 19 to play host to Monmouth. The Great Danes defeated the 12th-ranked Hawks to close out the 2025 season, 31-24, in one of the biggest upsets of the season. The loss essentially kept the Hawks out of the 2025 FCS Playoffs, ending the team's season.
 
Sept. 26 marks a road trip to New Jersey to face Princeton before an Oct. 3 date at home with the DeSean Jackson led Delaware State Hornets. The two teams also met in 2025, with the Hornets taking a 37-32 victory in a game that featured a three-hour weather delay. The event will be the final non-conference game for the Great Danes.
 
After a bye on Oct. 10, UAlbany returns to the road for two straight weeks with stops at Stony Brook (Oct. 17) and Rhode Island (Oct. 24).
 
The Great Danes will then host Campbell on Halloween, marking the first-ever matchup between the two programs. UAlbany then travels to Bryant on Nov. 7 before hosting Maine (Nov. 14) and traveling to North Carolina A&T (Nov. 21) to close out the year.
