Key Stat Lines
Head Coach Jared Ambrose: "You got to go into every game believing you can win, and have the utmost respect for your opponent, and I was pretty encouraged by the intensity and the physicality and the focus we brought out at the beginning of the game, specifically defensively on special teams…There are going to be guys returning. There's going to be guys demoted. There's going to be all types of things. But, you know, the bye comes at the right time for us and we'll see if we can get the most out of it."

How it Happened:
  • The Great Danes were able to get on the board first midway through the first when James Bozek hit a field goal from 34 yards out to make it 3-0.
  • The Seawolves took the lead with 3:32 remaining in the first on an eight-yard run from Roland Dempster, capping a seven-play, 70-yard drive to make it 7-3.
  • Stony Brook had a chance to push the lead to 10-3 early in the second, but a field goal from 31 yards out went wide.
  • The great Danes cut the lead to 7-6 with just under two minutes remaining in the first half on a 33-yarder from Bozek.
  • On Stony Brook's ensuing drive, kicker Michael Mannino hit a 46-yard field goal to extend the lead back to four points, 10-6. Only nine seconds were left on the clock.
  • Less than two minutes into the second half, Stony Brook pushed the lead to 17-6 thanks to a 28-yard scoring rush from Chris Zellous.
  • The Great Danes turned the ball over on their next drive when Stony Brook's Bryson Parker picked up an interception on his team's own 46-yard line.
  • The Seawolves marched the remaining 54 yards on seven plays to push the lead to 24-6. Zellous ran the ball in from a yard out for the score.
  • The score moved to 31-6 late in the third on 17-yard pass from Zellous to Dez Williams.
  • Stony Brook forced a fumble deep in UAlbany territory at the start of the fourth, taking over at the one-yard line. They scored on the next play via a one-yard rush from Zellous to make it a 37-6 ball game. The extra point was no good due to a botched snap.
  • Aidan Semo came in at quarterback in the fourth. On his first drive, he went 2-2 for 64 yards, including a 47-yard touchdown pass to Jasiah Barron. The two-point try was no good, making the score 37-12.
