SHORT STORY: The Great Danes battled the Catamounts to a loss in a double-overtime thriller, Friday evening.
COACH PHIL SYKES: "It was a tough game today. Both teams played hard and they got the better of us late. We will regroup and get ready for Yale on Sunday."

- Vermont outshot UAlbany, 16-8, but the Great Danes held the advantage in penalty corners, 6-4.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In a scoreless first quarter, the Catamounts held the advantage with five shots to the Great Danes' two. Both shots on goal for each team were stopped by the respective goalies.
- The second quarter was all Vermont with four shots and two penalty corners.
- The second half as a whole was even with each team earning three shots but the Great Danes held a 4-1 advantage in penalty corners.
- UAlbany held on through the first overtime period - Vermont held possession for much of the 10-minute period with four shots to the Great Danes' one.
- Although the Great Danes earned two corners to the Catamounts' one in the second overtime period, Vermont won the game with a goal in the final two minutes of the game.
