Following a season-opening 3-1 victory on Saturday, August 17
th over LIU, the Great Danes have seen their record fall below .500 after suffering back-to-back losses to Monmouth (Aug 22) by a score of 6-0 and Fordham (Aug 25) by a score of 4-2. Currently in the nation though the Great Danes hold the third highest shot accuracy in the entire nation at 0.727 percent recording 16 shots on goal to 22 total shots.

Redshirt Sophomore
Casey Stowell has started the Great Danes 2024 campaign by leading the team with two goals, one each against LIU and Fordham. In the assist column,
Madison Wisheart and
Madison Hnis are both tied for the team-high with one a piece.
Claire Owens leads the purple and gold heading into Sunday's contest with four shots on goal.Â

Keeper of the Goal
In net for all three of the Great Danes' matches to start the season has been Atlanta, Georgia native
Emily Dorfman (1-2-0). The sophomore in net has so far compiled a total of 270:00 minutes for the Purple and Gold while recording a total of 20 saves off of 63 shots for a 0.645 save percentage. She is currently ranked 20
th in the nation and second in the America East with a 6.67 saves per game average.

Looking at the Bobcats:
Quinnipiac has gotten off to a rough start to begin the 2024 season having been outscored by it's opponents 1-7 in three matches. Coming off a 1-0 loss to Stonehill, the Bobcats lone goal scorer for the season is defender Victoria Foster who registered the team's point against Hofstra back on August 15
th. Assisting Foster on the solo shot was junior midfielder Madison Alves. On the attack for Quinnipiac, Courtney Chochol is the team's leader total of seven shots with three shots on goal. Sofia Lospinosa (0-2-1) has spent most of their time in net for the Bobcats as she's totaled a time of 256:56 on the field while making 15 saves with six goals against for 2.10 goals against average and 0.714 save percentage.

Looking back
The last time UAlbany faced Quinnipiac was back on September 11, 2016, in which the Great Danes came away with the 3-1 victory thanks to a two goal performance by Kiana Rugar. Sunday will mark the third meeting between the two teams since 2015 to which the Purple and Gold hold the 2-0 record.
