Short Story: Another strong start on the mound by Dylan Banner was not enough as the UAlbany baseball team fell to Manhattan, 7-5.

Key Stat Lines
Head Coach Jon Mueller: "The positive news was that Dylan Banner went out for the third week in a row and pitched like a Friday guy. Steven Turk has been really consistent for us most of the year, those things happen. We had some offensive opportunities we didn't cash in on in the middle innings. Give them credit, they battled back and we were unable to score other than two innings. I look forward to still winning the series, it starts with tomorrow."

How it Happened:
  • The Great Danes gave Dylan Banner the nod to start. Justin Solimine started for the Jaspers.
  • Loading the bases in the bottom of the third, Will Binder roped a single to right field to score the contest's first run. Luke Filippi followed suit with a double to left center to drive in another run. Binder scored on a wild pitch. Filippi scored on a sac fly to left field, giving UAlbany an early 4-0 advantage.
  • Answering back in the fourth, Manhattan's Dylan Mayer scored on a sac fly to right field, making it 4-1.
  • Trey Packen came in to pitch for the Jaspers in the fourth inning.
  • In the top of the sixth, Daniel Perez led the inning with a single to left center. Drew Wyers slugged a home run to center field, reducing the deficit to 4-3.
  • Greg Shaw was brought in to pitch in the sixth inning by Manhattan with two outs.
  • Steven Turk entered the contest on the mound in the seventh.
  • With runners on first and second, Chase Swain singled up the middle to tie the contest. Mayer scored on a sac fly, giving the Jaspers a 5-4 lead.
  • Loading the bases in the bottom of the seventh, Filippi scored on a fielder's choice to tie the game.
  • In the top of eight, Trevor Santos slugged a two-run home run, pushing Manhattan ahead 7-5.
  • The Jaspers claimed game one of the series with a 7-5 win.
