HOW IT HAPPENED
- After two scoreless innings, the Great Danes earned a 3-0 lead in the third.
- Reaching from an error followed by two singles, graduate students Caitlyn Mitros, Morgan Petty, and Maddi Petrella loaded the bases.
- Victoria Vilarchao sent the ball to left center for a two-RBI double.
- Pinch-running for Vilarchao, freshman Kristina Langdon went on to score the third UAlbany run.
- The Raiders tallied their first hit in the bottom of the fourth.
- With two outs on the board and one runner on base in the fifth, Mary Kate Murray singled up the middle to drive in a run from second base.
- Colgate answered with its first run - a solo homer from Nora Megenity.
- Both teams remained scoreless through the final two innings and the Great Danes won the contest, 4-1.
- To close the game, the UAlbany defense combined for a double play at second and first base.
