• Morgan Petty hit 200 career hits with her fourth hit of the day. She also tallied 150 career RBI with the first one of the day.

KEY STATS

• Sophomore Deanna Grahek led with two RBI.
• Morgan Petty and senior Jordan Nastos tallied a team-high two hits while Petty led with two runs.
• Three Great Danes hit extra-base hits - Petty (triple), Maddi Petrella (double), and Grahek (double).
• Graduate student Wendi Hammond pitched the complete-game shutout. She totaled five strikeouts and walked no batters in the effort.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Wendi Hammond opened the contest with two consecutive strikeouts before a groundout to second base ended the top of the first.
• With the first pitch to her, Morgan Petty hit a triple to the right field fence. 
• Redshirt-junior Victoria Vilarchao followed with a sac fly to put a run on the scoreboard.
• Up 1-0, Hammond added two strikeouts in the top of the second.
• Petty added a single to get on base for the second time in the third inning.
• Maddi Petrella slammed a double to the left-field fence to bring Petty home for the Great Danes' second run.
• After a scoreless fourth inning in which sophomore Sara Anderson and Jordan Nastos were left on base, UAlbany went on a two-out rally to earn the win in five innings.
• With two outs on the board and one runner on base, freshman Mary Kate Murray singled through the right side for one RBI and freshman Kristina Langdon added a run off a stolen base.
• After Nastos added an RBI single to her stat line and Anderson walked, sophomore Deanna Grahek sent the ball to right center for a base-clearing double.
• Sophomore Kasey Conn closed out the game with a walk-off single to send in the Great Danes' eighth run.

 
GAME TWO
 
SCORE: UAlbany 5, Maine 0
 
KEY STATS

• Maddi Petrella led UAlbany in game two with three RBI and two hits.
• Morgan Petty hit the only other two Great Dane hits.
• Combining for two multi-base hits, Petrella hit a triple and Petty hit a double.
• Kasey Conn led on the base paths with two runs.
• Redshirt-junior Kate Powers pitched a complete game with two strikeouts and no walks in the shutout victory.

 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Great Danes got on the board in the first inning with two runs.
• After Maine had walked the first two UAlbany batters, Maddi Petrella hit a triple to send both baserunners home.
• Once again, the Great Danes put two runners on base in the second inning.
• Back to the start of the lineup, graduate student Caitlyn Mitros earned an RBI before Petty doubled for a second RBI.
• Following a scoreless third inning, Petrella hit an RBI single to right field for UAlbany's fifth run.
• As both teams left runners on base in each inning remaining, neither team was able to add a run and the Great Danes secured the doubleheader sweep with a 5-0 win.

 
NEXT: UAlbany will close the regular season with Senior Day tomorrow (May 4).
