Key Stat Lines
Head Coach Jon Mueller"Another gritty, tough win. At the end of the game, we were down a run and came up with a huge rally in the eighth. We used a bunch of different guys on the mound, everyone contributed, and we played good enough defense for the most part all weekend to get it done. John Vitucci had a huge two-out bases-clearing double but there's contributions up-and-down the lineup. Really proud of this group, looking out there at the end of the game there are five freshmen on the field at once, winning a conference game and completing the sweep against NJIT. Looking forward to our midweek game."

 How it Happened:
  • The Great Danes gave Connor Eisenmann the start as they looked to complete the sweep. Holden de Jong started on the bump for the Highlanders.
  • The UAlbany bats got going early with Jared Toby hitting a single through the left side to score Ryan Ferremi in the first inning, giving the Great Danes an early 1-0 advantage.
  • NJIT responded in the third with Kevin Putsky homering to right field, giving the Highlanders a 2-1 lead.
  • Answering back in the bottom of the third, Luke Filippi hit a single through the left side to drive in Ferremi, tying the score at 2-2.
  • Steven Turk came in to pitch for UAlbany in the fifth inning.
  • The Great Danes brought Owen Birkman in to pitch in the top of the eighth.
  • Luke Boule was called in to pitch with runners on the corners in the eighth.
  • Cole Campbell scored on a wild pitch, giving NJIT a 3-2 lead.
  • The Highlanders brought Talon Mihalinac in to pitch with runners on first and third in the eighth.
  • Toby hit into a fielder's choice that saw Will Binder score to tie the contest. Wild pitching loaded the bases for John Vitucci who broke the game open with a bases-clearing double, making it 6-3 in favor of the Great Danes.
  • Looking to fight back, Cade Ladehoff hit a lead-off double to start the ninth. Putsky hit his second home run of the day to make it a one-run contest.
  • UAlbany held on to win game three and complete the sweep, 6-5.
