Short Story: The University at Albany baseball team dropped both games of Saturday's doubleheader to Purdue. The day was highlighted by a strong appearance by
Connor Eisenmann out of the pen and
Will Binder, who tallied four hits on the day.
Coach Jeff Kaier: "Today was a step forward for our team. I thought we hit the ball well in Game 1 and threw the ball well in Game 2. Unfortunately we haven't been able to put a complete game together. We are showing signs but we need more consistency offensively and defensively."

- Will Binder had a perfect outing at the plate, going 3-3 with a walk and a hit-by-pitch while also recording an RBI.

How it Happened Game 1:
- The Great Danes gave Matthew Mariano the start. Jordan Morales started on the bump for the Boilermakers.
- Purdue struck in the bottom of the first. After the first two batters reached base safely, Luke Gaffney capitalized with a single to left field to drive in a run. A hit-by-pitch and walk with bases loaded brought in another two. Jo Stevens grounded into a fielder's choice to add to the lead. The Boilermakers capped off the inning with a two-run RBI single by Camden Gasser to take a 6-0 lead.
- Following a single and a walk, Will Binder singled through the right side to score Anthony Scarabino to get UAlbany on the board.
- Connor Eisenmann was brought in to pitch by the Great Danes.
- With runners on second and third, Stevens added to Purdue's lead with a fielder's choice. Gasser followed up with a single down the third-base line to drive in another run. The Boilermakers added to their lead with Mike Bolton Jr. slugging an RBI double to left center. Bolton scored off a double-steal to make it 10-1.
- The Great Danes loaded the bases in the top of the fifth as they looked to fight back. Jared Toby hit an RBI line-drive single to left before Justin Hurd hit a sac fly to drive in another run, making it 10-3.
- The Boilermakers brought in Cole Van Assen to pitch in the sixth.
- Purdue added to their lead in the bottom of the eighth with a sac fly by Keenan Talyor to take an 11-3 advantage.
- CJ Backer was brought in to close the game for the Boilermakers.
- Purdue claimed game one of the doubleheader with an 11-3 win.
How it Happened Game 2:
- Owen Birkman got the nod from UAlbany with Luke Wagner getting the start for Purdue.
- Luke Filippi got the scoring started early for the Great Danes, ripping a line drive to left field to score Luke Myers in the first inning.
- The Boilermakers struck back in the bottom of the third. Following a lead-off single and a walk, Luke Gaffney slugged a double to drive them in, giving Purdue a 2-1 advantage.
- Adding on to their lead in the fourth, Gasser hit a two-run single. Gaffney hit a triple off the wall to drive in another before scoring on a Sutter single, giving Purdue a 6-1 lead.
- In the bottom of the sixth, UAlbany brought in Michael DiMartino to pitch.
- Jackson Dannelley was brought in from the pen by the Boilermakers in the seventh inning.
- Purdue claimed victory, winning 6-1.
