RICHMOND – Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Football has honored 706 student-athletes as members of the Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll for the 2023 Fall semester. In total, 36 members of the 2023 UAlbany football team were named to the list.
For the first time, the conference is honoring student-athletes for three different levels of achievement. Those with a 4.0 grade point average are recognized as High Honors with Distinction. Student-athletes with a GPA between 3.7 and 4.0 are recognized as High Honors. Student-athletes with a GPA between 3.0 and 3.7 are recognized as Honors.
Defensive lineman Ghassan Chehade, quarterback Trey Lindsey, and kicker/punter Steven Sadek represented the Great Danes with High Honors.
From the CAA as a whole, there were 43 football student-athletes earning High Honors with Distinction, 109 football student-athletes achieving High Honors, and 554 football student-athlete receiving Honors.
Student-athletes on the Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll must have attained a minimum grade point average of 3.0 during the designated academic term and been enrolled as a full-time student.
